The Empire is collapsing. Dragons have returned, the Aldmeri Dominion is spreading its influence, and Skyrim, one of the few provinces still part of the Empire, is ravaged by civil war after the death of its High King. In the middle of all this, a new Dragonborn has appeared, and has begun to make waves. Some see this as a sign of hope. Hope for Skyrim, and for the Empire. A possible return to its glory days, when the Dragonborn emperors still ruled. Among those who see this Last Dragonborn as the saviour of the Empire, are several members of the Elder Council. They have sent their best spymaster to Skyrim to find the Dragonborn, and guide them towards restoring the Empire.

DESCRIPTION
This mod adds a quest to let the player become High King of Skyrim. As High King, you are able to drastically change the lives of any NPC through new dialogue. This mod is my attempt at integrating (most of) the features of aysigago's "Become High King of Skyrim" mod into the existing world of Skyrim, without using the new worldspace. If you've played the original version, all you need to know is that in this version, your court is located in Solitude instead of Highreach. All dialogue has been edited to reflect this, and you'll find Surgus' dialogue and appearance to be less immersion-breaking than before.

FEATURES (short)
All of the features are added through new dialogue that appears once you've completed the quest. As High King, you can promote, command, or punish any npc in a variety of ways. You also have the ability to start a war with the Thalmor.
TROUBLESHOOTING/ISSUES
READ THIS BEFORE DOWNLOADING
- There is no voiced dialogue. Turn on your subtitles. If dialogue moves too fast to be readable, use Fuz Ro D-oh (available on the Nexus)
- Marriage is incomplete. You can marry Ulfric or Elisif but they will not have any spouse dialogue. The "Force of Mara" spell from the Multi Marriage mod (available on the Nexus) may fix this (unconfirmed)
- If the quest can't be completed, open the console and type "set AAIsHighKing to 1". This will simply give you the High King dialogue instantly
- The "Do you fear death?" dialogue is used to make NPCs essential/unessential. Use the "Set AAKingExtra to 0" console command to turn off the dialogue
- The notifications when you promote or punish someone show the old names/titles. I don't know how to fix this yet
- Ulfric and Elisif may be unkillable, preventing you from completing the quest, even after setting them to be unessential. This can be resolved by spawning copies and killing those instead
- Starting a new game with this mod active can cause infinite loading screens. Activate it later
COMPATIBILITY
This mod adds one NPC to the Markarth Warrens, one trap door to Windhelm, and dialogue. No other vanilla areas or dialogue have been edited. However, some users of the original version reported CTDs upon entering Markarth. If you encounter these or other issues, please leave a comment (preferably after determining which mods caused problems).
